A Lifetime of

Designing, Presenting, & Teaching

If you need a floral stylist, presenter, or teacher you can bring the casual style, relaxed demeanor, and passion for flowers and design of Nature's Floral Artist to your event, show, group, or organization!

Doug Vogel's early introduction to floristry began as a teenager in 1968 when he rode a greyhound bus more than an hour from rural Southern Maryland into Washington, D.C. to work at Henderson's Florist on "13th & G." He was drawn to the industry by curiosity about his neighbor's flower shop, the art of design, the botanicals themselves, and the excitement of the city. In the summer of 1973 he attended and was certified through the American Floral Art School in Chicago. And has since had a wide range of professional experiences in the floral industry.

He has owned two retail floral shops, is past president of the Middle Atlantic Florists Association, twice past president of the Teleflora DC-MD-VA unit, and has made floristry his livelihood in various shapes and forms for over 40 years.

Doug says, "There is always something new and exciting going on in the floral industry to keep things fresh and interesting." He has been a part of Presidential Inaugural design teams, the Society of American Florists - Congressional Action Days where he exchanged ideas with floral designers and shop owners from all over the country, and in 2005 had the once-in-a-lifetime experience of designing flowers for an "Extreme Home Makeover" house!

Doug is always interested in working on new floral projects. Contact him for help with event or production design, presentation to your organization, or classes and workshops for yourself or your group.
